The Mission of The College Settlement and Kuhn Day Camps is to provide camping programs and services to young people from the greater Philadelphia area, especially those who are economically disadvantaged, in order to foster personal growth through understanding, acceptance, respect for self, others and our natural world by means of enjoyable, experiential and environmental educational activities.

Our overnight camp offers a two week summer camping experience and enrollment is open to children ages 8-14 from the five county Philadelphia area (Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery.) The College Settlement Camp offers children from different ethnic, cultural and social backgrounds the opportunity to live, play and learn together. We do not discriminate as to race, creed, color, national origin, special needs or gender.
Kuhn Day Camp is located on over 64 acres in Horsham Township, Montgomery County. The Kuhn Day Camp, founded in 1950, is adjacent to The College Settlement and the two camps share some facilities and resources.

During their stay campers will live in cabins with campers their own age and gender. Campers will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities. Environmental activities may include creek crawling, fishing, exploring, hiking, plant & animal study and many more. Sporting activities may include boating, biking, climbing, basketball, soccer, rugby, and softball. Other activities include arts & crafts, hay rides, dancing, storybook reading, games, ropes course and others. At least once while your child is here, they will participate in a “Special Day”. Examples of camp special days are Year-in-a-Day, Super Sunday Carnival, and our most popular Pirate Day. Campers 8-12 will have the opportunity to participate in a tent camping “overnight” on our property


Kuhn Day Camp is open to children ages 7 to 14 years. Each weekday, campers are dropped off or bussed from designated stops near their home and arrive at camp in time for breakfast. Kuhn Day Camp is a great, exciting place where children get to spend the day swimming, creek crawling, playing games, telling stories, cooking, picking berries and all sorts of other fun filled and enjoyable things. The Kuhn Day Camp operates two, four-week sessions each summer. Children are provided with breakfast, lunch and a snack each day. Each camper has the opportunity to participate in one overnight campout.
While at Camp, your child will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities. Environmental activities may include creek crawls, fishing, exploring, hiking, insect study, adaptation lessons and many more. Sporting activities may include kickball, basketball, soccer and softball. Other activities include arts & crafts, cooking, dancing, storybook reading, games and many more.

Each Friday at Day Camp is a "Special Day." Special Days may include Movie Themes, Friendship Games, Water Carnival and others. Transportation will be provided to select locations in North, South and West Philadelphia (further information on exact locations will be available in March 2014).
