GENERAL CAMP INFORMATION
Camp Lohikan is a private coed sleepaway summer camp for children 6 to 15 years old. The camp is situated on 1200 acres in the Pocono Mountains of northeastern Pennsylvania. We're about 2.5 hours from New York City and 3 hours from Philadelphia.

FIRST-TIME CAMPER SPECIALISTS
First-time campers receive special attention at Camp Lohikan. Each new camper is assigned to a senior member of our staff who monitors the camper's well being on a daily basis and keeps parents apprised of their child's progress. 1st-4th GRADE PROGRAM
Our younger campers travel with their bunk mates and counselors according to an activity schedule that includes all of our arts, sports and adventure activities. Certain activity sites offer electives which allow even younger campers choices in their activity schedule! Close supervision is provided by the cabin counselors, division directors and program staff throughout the day.
TEEN PROGRAM
The elective program and the 65+ daily activity choices are only two reasons why Lohikan's program is so popular with teens. Exciting evening activities, "Teen Only" events, trips, and special camp events round out the perfect teen program. LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
Teenagers entering junior and senior year in high school have the opportunity to continue their camp experiences by participating in Camp Lohikan's Junior Staff Leadership Program. This program provides 16-17 year olds with hands-on training in child care and counseling, instructor skills, and leadership. Junior staff members attend training sessions dedicated to these subjects as well as sessions addressing the college application process and the relevance of the Junior Staff Leadership Program. In addition, junior staff members can earn community service credit and a lifeguard certification while participating in the program. Graduates of the Two-Summer Leadership Program are guaranteed a counselor position at Camp Lohikan the following summer.

TEAM SPORTS: Lohikan's Sports Program is second to none! Professional coaches head up each program area and are assisted by qualified college-level instructors. Daily team sports activities include: Basketball, Baseball, Softball, Lacrosse, Soccer, Field Hockey, Flag Football, Volleyball, Rugby, Roller Hockey, Gymnastics, Cheerleading, and Dodgeball. Inter Camp Games and recreational play time are scheduled in each sports program..
INDIVIDUAL SPORTS: Camp Lohikan offers daily instructional classes in: Golf, Tennis, Fencing, Archery, Riflery, Martial Arts, Wrestling, Weight Training, and Yoga. We also offer daily recreational classes in: Gaga, Frisbee, Tetherball, Ping Pong, Jogging, and Exercise & Fitness.
WATER SPORTS: Our private lake and staff of 25 lifeguards and instructors provide an aquatic program that is safe and comprehensive. We offer daily instruction and certification in: Jet Skiing, Water Skiing, Sailing, Windsurfing, Canoeing, Boating, Wake Boarding, and Paddle Boarding, We offer daily recreational classes in Kayaking and Fishing. We also operate a lake waterpark where campers can take a 100 foot Waterslide into the lake, climb a 14 foot Iceberg, jump on a Water Trampoline, swing on our Lake Tarzan Swing or take a ride on our Banana Boat! For those who thrive on adventure we take weekly river canoe trips on the Delaware River.
POOL AQUATICS: Our Heated Swimming Pool is where we conduct our ARC Swim Instruction Program. We also operate our Lifeguard Certification Program, Weekly Swim Meets, Scuba Diving Clinics, and Daily Recreational Swims at the pool.
EXTREME SPORTS: Extreme Sports add a level of excitement to the camp's sports program that's hard to beat. We offer daily classes in Paintball, Bungee Trampoline, Skate Park, (Skateboarding, Scooters, BMX Bikes, In-line skates), Mt Cycling, Mt. Boarding, and Laser Tag.
CIRCUS and FLYING TRAPEZE: Some campers do circus all day long! The Circus Program is wide ranging and offers classes in: Unicycling, Teeterboard, Juggling, Silks, Lyra, Single & Double Trapeze, Diabolo, Rolla Bolla, Clowning, Stilt Walking, Acrobatics, Devil Sticks, Rolling Globe, and Tight Wire. We also operate a very popular Flying Trapeze Program that features two trapeze rigs, one indoor and one outdoor. We fly even if it's raining! We also put on tremendous Circus Shows in July and August which feature camper performances.
MOTOR SPORTS: The Motor Sports Program is perfect for campers who want to accelerate their summer! We offer daily classes in Honda Quads ATVs and Honda Dirt Bikes.
HORSEBACK RIDING: English Equitation is a specialty of Camp Lohikan and it's offered as part of the camp tuition. You can ride every day and it's FREE! Advance riders receive instruction in Jumping. Classes in Horse Care and optional Horseback Overnights are part of the program. Campers are also invited to participate in Horse Shows held every two weeks.
CREATIVE ARTS: Creative Arts is very popular at Camp Lohikan. Campers can participate in Arts & Crafts (14 art workshops), T-Shirt Factory (tie dyeing, batiking, fabric painting, silk screening), Painting (water color & acrylics), Sketching (charcoal pencils), Drawing, Air Brush, Jewelry Making, Beading, Basket Weaving, Lanyards & Braiding, Macramé, Paper Mache, Copper Enameling, Block Printing, Needle Craft, Mask-Making, Decoupage, Pottery, Woodworking, and Model Rocketry.
CULINARY ARTS: Cooking is so popular at Camp Lohikan that we offer a simple one-hour cooking class and an extended multi-period Culinary Arts Clinic on a daily basis.
PERFORMING ARTS: The Performing Arts Department is divided into Drama, Dance, and Music.
Drama classes feature instruction in Acting, Improv, Stage Craft and feature a Drama Production every 10 days.
Dance offers instruction in Hip Hop, Jazz, Ballet, Tap, Modern Dance and Choreography. Dance recitals are featured every two weeks.

ADVENTURE ACTIVITIES: Camp Lohikan is situated on 1200 acres and the opportunities for adventure are almost endless. We offer Real Rock Climbing (on camp grounds), a 35' Climbing Tower, a 25 station High and Low-Ropes Course, Two Zip Lines, Mt. QUALITY INSTRUCTION
All activities are instructed by professionals who are assisted by a staff of college-enrolled instructors each of whom are certified in their field of specialty. Beginner through advanced skill levels are accommodated and, in certain activities, Private Lessons are available, i.e., tennis, equitation, music. In addition to instructional classes, recreational time is provided in all activities.
SPECIAL CLINICS
Clinics are a great way to improve skills in a short period of time. Each of our clinics are offered numerous times throughout the summer. Certain clinics are concentrated instructional sessions designed to improve skills by focusing the camper's attention and energy for 2-3 hours a day over a 3-4 day period. These clinics include: The Advanced Tennis Clinic, Beginner/Intermediate Golf Clinics, Cheerleading Clinic, Equestrian Clinic, Horse Care Clinic, High-Five Basketball Clinic, Advance Flying Trapeze Clinic and more!
Other clinics focus on the performance aspect of an activity offered in the daily program. Participants receive special instruction and training in preparation for an exhibition or performance which is scheduled for all-camp or public viewing. These clinics include: The X-Games Skateboarding Clinic, the Circus Show Clinic, the Hip Hop Clinic, DJ Clinic, Paintball Tournament Clinic, and the Rock Band Concert Clinic.
Lastly, there are clinics that feature instruction and experiences not offered in the daily program. These clinics include: Spy Camp, Survival Camp, the CSI Clinic, Geocaching and the Culinary Arts Clinic. No matter which clinic you choose, you're guaranteed to have FUN!
CAMP STAFF
A great camp experience is only possible with great camp staff. This is where we shine! Our 50+ senior staff members are adult professionals who assume supervisory responsibilities in camp and at least 90% return every summer. Our in-cabin counselors are college-enrolled staff members. Over 50% return every summer. Ninety percent of our staff are Americans who are recruited from all over the United States for their skills, experience and ability to work with children. All staff members are personally interviewed, references are contacted, previous employment is confirmed, criminal background checks are conducted and detailed applications are required. During the 7-10 day pre-camp orientation period staff members are certified in the camp's safety procedures, qualified for instructional responsibilities and receive professional child care training to assume counseling responsibilities during the summer.

MEDICAL STAFF
Camp Lohikan's Health Center is staffed with a camp physician, five registered nurses, a health services manager and medical assistants, all of whom reside on the camp grounds 24/7. The camp health center is open 24 hours a day. The health service manager keeps parents of children with medical concerns apprised of their child's the health condition while at camp.
CAMP FACILITIES
Camp Lohikan's campsite is one of the finest you'll find in the northeast. We're situated on 1200 acres and located high in the northeast Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, about 2.5 hours from New York City. The campsite is surrounded by preserved forested landscape and overlooks our private lake and miles of mountain vistas. Summer days are warm, the nights are cool and the fresh mountain air is clean and invigorating. It's the ideal summer camp location!

Lastly, there are clinics that feature instruction and experiences not offered in the daily program. These clinics include: Spy Camp, Survival Camp, the CSI Clinic, Geocaching and the Culinary Arts Clinic. No matter which clinic you choose, you're guaranteed to have FUN!
CAMP STAFF
A great camp experience is only possible with great camp staff. This is where we shine! Our 50+ senior staff members are adult professionals who assume supervisory responsibilities in camp and at least 90% return every summer. Our in-cabin counselors are college-enrolled staff members. Over 50% return every summer. Ninety percent of our staff are Americans who are recruited from all over the United States for their skills, experience and ability to work with children. All staff members are personally interviewed, references are contacted, previous employment is confirmed, criminal background checks are conducted and detailed applications are required. During the 7-10 day pre-camp orientation period staff members are certified in the camp's safety procedures, qualified for instructional responsibilities and receive professional child care training to assume counseling responsibilities during the summer.
CAMP LOHIKAN'S MISSION
Camp Lohikan is a warm, welcoming community of children and adults who come together summer after summer to experience the FUN and personal growth of "camp". Our mission is to provide children with a safe camp environment and staff it with caring adults who are committed to their positive growth and development. Our goal is to provide an environment of support and encouragement where children will try new things and grow outside their comfort zone. Lohikan's program is designed to provide a wide variety of learning opportunities for children to develop their artistic and athletic talents as well as their social skills. Our ultimate goal is to provide a camp experience where the child will return home with new friends, new skills, increased self esteem and greater independence. Our intention is to make Camp Lohikan a positive growth experience that will last a lifetime!
MEDICAL STAFF
Camp Lohikan's Health Center is staffed with a camp physician, five registered nurses, a health services manager and medical assistants, all of whom reside on the camp grounds 24/7. The camp health center is open 24 hours a day. The health service manager keeps parents of children with medical concerns apprised of their child's the health condition while at camp.
CAMP FACILITIES
Camp Lohikan's campsite is one of the finest you'll find in the northeast. We're situated on 1200 acres and located high in the northeast Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania, about 2.5 hours from New York City. The campsite is surrounded by preserved forested landscape and overlooks our private lake and miles of mountain vistas. Summer days are warm, the nights are cool and the fresh mountain air is clean and invigorating. It's the ideal summer camp location!
Lohikan's facilities include: A private lake with 50+ boats, heated swimming pool, on-premises 30 horse stable, over 7 miles of horse trails, indoor and outdoor riding rings, 11 court tennis center equipped with lights, indoor and outdoor basketball courts (with lights, adjustable goals), indoor roller hockey rink, awesome skate park, over 40,000 sq. ft. of indoor activity facilities, 1200 private acres, 2 paintball fields (with lights for night games), 6 regulation sports fields, batting cage, performing arts building with main stage (professionally equipped), circus arts center with indoor and outdoor flying trapeze, amphitheater, creative arts center with 14 workshops, woodworking building, ceramics/pottery building, dance studio, music department with rehearsal rooms and recording studios, sand volleyball court, archery and riflery ranges, pitch and putt 9 hole golf course, golf driving range, fitness center, outdoor challenge course with a 40’ climbing tower, 2 zip lines and 16 high and low rope elements, 42’ real rock face climbing site on camp, 1/4 mile quad track, 7 miles of quad trails (on camp), gymnastics center (with springboard floor), bungee trampoline (4 trampolines), photography studio, radio broadcasting studio, video production studio, computer and email center, culinary arts building, snack shop and video game room, wrestling pavilion, martial arts center, downhill mountain boarding trails, and lots more!
LIVING ACCOMMODATIONS: Campers live in modern cabins which include bathrooms, individual stall showers, windows with screens, electrical outlets, and porches. Two to three college-aged counselors live in the cabin with their campers.
If your plans allow, we encourage families to visit us during the summer to witness the spirit of Camp Lohikan first hand.
