SUMMER FILM INTENSIVE 2017
The Artizen Company’s Summer Film Intensive: a hands-on filmmaking program, that will give participants the opportunity to develop and produce original, festival-worthy, short films and television with industry professionals.
This year we will focus on studio television development and production. Your young creative will have the opportunity to develop and produce quality programs for actual television broadcast. Each week participants work and learn in an actual functioning television studio.
The four-week intensives (session 1 and session 2) are led by The Artizen Company’s Co-founders and Artistic Directors, Aimee McCoy and Tae Eady. Along with daily instruction from Ms. McCoy, your teens will attend workshops led by various industry professionals, that will kickstart their own journey into independent media and filmmaking. The program will culminate in a dailies screening for family and friends, followed by a larger premier screening of the finished films in the fall.
The program is open to highly motivated youths age 12-18 (special consideration needed for younger participants) interested in a focused and collaborative filmmaking experience — in front of the camera and/or behind the camera. Through concentrated teamwork and leadership opportunities, participants will not only have professional work to show for their efforts but also increase their knowledge and skills in such areas as:

• Acting and presenting for Camera
• The Director’s Job
• Technical Direction
• Story Architecture
• Cinematography & Camera Operation
• Sound Design & Audio Engineer
• Wardrobe/Costumes/Make-up
• Art Direction/Set Design
• Lighting and Grip
• Production Assistance
• Editing & Post
• Marketing and Film Festival Entry process

Experience is helpful but not required. However, each candidate must complete our review process, before the course begins, to ascertain their level of participation, motivation, and ability to work within a team. Space is limited due to the nature of the program, so start the process early. An interview is required for enrollment.

Meet-Up Location: 215 Sycamore St. Decatur, GA 30030
**Decatur Library is our daily meet-up/drop-off location. We hold meetings and accomplish research objectives, then we are off to the studio, on location, or out tours. A full schedule will be available after registration.**
Ages: 12-18 (special consideration is needed for participants under 12).
Fee: $1400 (for full session), or $350 per week (two-week minimum):

Former students have gone on to win awards at Film Festivals, work in professional productions and others have been accepted into art and performing art school programs.
