School of Rock Elmhurst offers a wide variety of one week summer camps designed to challenge and inspire students whether they are just starting out or are experienced musicians looking to take their playing to the next level. Our Performance camps are designed to teach music, build confidence and create memories that will last a lifetime. Kids of all ages and abilities work together to rehearse and take the stage at the end of the week for an unforgettable rock concert. Our Little Wing, Intro to Rock and Beginner Instrument Camps are designed to get them learning music quickly and spark a passion for music that will get them on their musical journey. Let's Rock!

LITTLE WING 50'S SOCK HOP (AGES 3-5) (JUNE 11-15, 2018)

For ages 3 to 5 years old
LET’S TWIST AGAIN LIKE WE DID LAST SUMMER! Little Wing Campers will love learning great classic American tunes from Elvis Presley, Little Richard, Chubby Checker, & more! Little Wing Camp will include a wide variety of large and fine motor activities, crafts, “sound” experiments and games designed to develop a love and understanding of music through play! Campers will also be introduced to each of the main rock band instruments (guitar, bass, drums, piano/keyboard, and vocals), so they have an understanding of how the instruments produce sound and what makes them distinct. The best part of camp is our band “updates” with video & photos of what our band has been rehearsing together! Your child will come out of camp singing songs like “All Shook Up” & “Tutti Frutti” from day one. That’s definitely a level up from “Old Mac Donald!”

INTRO TO ROCK CAMP (AGES 6-7) (JUNE 11-15, 2018) or (JULY 23-27, 2018)

Shake, Rattle & Roll into our Intro to Rock Camp! Students will create and name their own band, receive hands-on learning with guitar, bass, drums vocals and keyboards scaled to smaller hands and vocal instruction designed specifically for this age group. Students will also experience playing as a team in their bands, taking press photos, practice ear training, and learning about song structure. Above all, students will develop a love of music through inspiration and fun!

BEGINNER GUITAR CAMP (AGES 8-12*) (JUNE 25-29, 2018)

For ages 8-12*
Can’t play guitar? Don’t “Fret”! Our beginner guitar camp is a 5 day rock n roll experience that will take complete beginners and get them up and playing real rock songs in one short week. Students can expect to learn the basic fundamentals of guitar & bass such as chording, tuning, strumming and picking. We will also explore all the cool equipment like amps, pedals and other gear needed to play like a rock star!

WEEZER PERFORMANCE CAMP (AGES 8-12*) (JUNE 18-22, 2018)

Come on and feel the Weez in this five-day performance camp celebrating one of the 90's and 00's most influential and popular bands: Weezer! Student will feel just like Buddy Holly as they compile and prepare a setlist full of blistering guitar solos, pop vocal harmonies, quirky keys/piano parts, rock-solid bass lines, and hard hitting drums! The show will culminate with a show at a real rock and roll club that will make you feel like you're living in Beverly Hills, despite actually residing in the suburbs of Chicago! So don't hold this thread and don't walk away from this opportunity to have your kids perform classic hits in a real rock band setting and learn the basic of melody and harmony and other aspects of music theory! Say it Ain't So? Sorry, it is very much so! Weezer Performance Camp students should already have a basic understanding of their instrument and grasp of rudimentary music fundamentals. Students are assigned various songs and engage in daily group workshops covering music theory, rehearsal techniques, performance practice, and group band rehearsals.

The British are coming! To help your little ones learn how to ROCK! During this camp our band will learn about artists such as The Beatles, The Who, Queen, & The Rolling Stones to make your family rock out all summer long!
