New Orleans School of GlassWorks is in its 30th year of offering a one of a kind, young adult summer workshop from June – August 2020. The workshop will be available for students ages 9 to 19. Young adults will gain the experience of hands-on creativity and instruction in glassblowing, scientific torchworking, metal sculpture, ceramics, printmaking, and float building. This is complemented by collaborations between these studios to create one-of-a-kind mixed media masterpieces. The staff and faculty have been rewarded with the students’ abilities in design, therefore mastering a multitude of challenging technical creations in the glass, metal, or print departments not offered in their schools. In the fall, the students have the opportunity to continue with the faculty on weekends, evenings and holidays. Examples of the designs created by the master faculty teachers in the glass, metal, and print studios are exhibited in the front room gallery, New Orleans ArtWorks Gallery. The summer workshops are limited to 25 students each week, with a 1 to 6 teacher/student ratio in each open, spacious working studio.
