Metro Parks' Nature Adventure Camps are designed to provide Central Ohio youth with the opportunity to discover and experience nature in an engaging, hands-on group setting. Campers will participate in fun outdoor activities, crafts and games. Metro Parks has been offering week-long day camp sessions since 1997. Programs are available for children in preschool through ninth grade.

Nature Adventure Camp staff members are trained naturalists, teachers and college students. High school interns will assist camp staff as counselors-in-training. Selection of staff is based on enthusiasm, ability to work with children, knowledge and leadership skills. Metro Parks completes a thorough background and fingerprint check on camp staff. Each camp will have one staff member for approximately every eight campers, except preschool and pre-kindergarten camps, which have one staff member for every four campers.


The health and safety of each camper is very important to Metro Parks' Nature Adventure camp staff. Our staff are trained in CPR, first aid and emergency procedures. Head counselors at each camp carry cell phones for emergencies and all parks have rangers on duty.
