MLW has been offering week-long residential leadership programs for nearly 70 years. Designed to identify and strengthen individual skills and practice working in teams, participants learn to understand and appreciate themselves and others and put that into action in their schools and communities. MLW uses a peer-facilitated model on relevant topics such as self awareness, leadership styles, group dynamics, project planning, effective communication, goal setting, active listening, time and stress management and action planning. Our middle school program is designed for rising 6th-8th graders, the high school program is for rising 9th-12th graders, and our advanced program is a highly selective program for those who have been through MLW before or have equivalent leadership experience, and is geared toward rising 11th and 12th graders.
