Indian Rock Preserve is one of our region’s premier environmental education centers. It includes a unique mix of forest, trails, swimming areas, classrooms, laboratories,exhibit animals and a farm that promotes exploration, skill-building, teamwork and fun, all in a
respectful and safe environment. Indian Rock Nature Preserve is part of the Environmental Learning Centers of Connecticut, Inc., a private, non-profit organization, located on Wolcott Road (Rt. 69) in Bristol.

Our mission is to inspire an appreciation for, and enjoyment of nature, through education and conservation, fostering a healthy environment and an improved quality of life. Indian Rock Summer Camp strives to meet this mission by providing outdoor experiences to our campers that foster discovery, exploration and adventure, enabling children to gain new-found respect for themselves, others and the natural world.

As you explore this brochure you will note the wide diversity in programming from animal care to nature discovery, art creation to kayaking and model rocketry to archery. Several new sessions have been added this year as well, including Nature's STEM, Smithing, Theatre at the Rock, Hydro Engineers, Digging Deep (archaeology), and Indian Rock Olympics. All of our instructors are specially trained and certified, and many have been with ELCCT for five years or more providing parents with peace of mind, knowing that their children are in good hands. In addition to our regular instructors, we also bring in experts from the community to provide special guest appearances. Lastly, we take the requirements mandated by Connecticut for camps very seriously and received a perfect score last year from the Connecticut Department of Health. Whether attending camp for one week or all nine, there is something for everyone. We hope you will join us!
