Audubon Sharon’s Summer Nature Programs for kids entering kindergarten through sixth grade at the Sharon Audubon Center on Route 4 in Sharon, CT. Camps are split into two age groups (K-2 and 3-6), and both are offered each week from 9am-3pm throughout the summer, beginning June 27 and running through August 19. Online registration and after-care are also available this year, and there are many brand new themed sessions to choose from.

Audubon Sharon Summer Nature Programs are an energetic and enjoyable opportunity for kids to begin their journey through nature. Children as young as three years old can participate in a 2-hour a day “Mommy & Me” type camp with a parent or guardian during the Early Childhood Discovery Week. Each themed week of camp is packed with new and exciting experiences that are equal parts educational and just pure fun. What a better way to learn about our local ecosystems and wonderful wildlife than an entire week of nature camp!

Campers will witness live birds of prey, reptiles, amphibians, and even a few insects. All attendees will get a chance to experience a huge variety of resident animals up close in person, including Bald Eagles, Owls, and a few friendly turtles. Who wouldn’t jump at the chance to romp around in a stream turning over rocks and logs all the while singing about a moose named Fred? At the Audubon Sharon Summer Nature Programs, campers will be provided not only with all the fun, games, and crafts, but valuable experiences providing kids with a view of their place in the environment. Today, more than ever before, it is our duty as parents and educators to show our children the wonders of the world as well help protect nature’s beauty and purity so that they one day can show their children. Sustainability can only be seen through appreciation, and all it takes is a spark in a child’s mind, and a beaming smile to begin that appreciation.
